How TUSHY Transformed Bidets into a Staple for Businesses in Covid
by Christie McLeod on Sep. 29, 2021
Choosing the right partner can make or break your company’s logistics, customer service, and repeat purchases. Using a fulfillment center like Shipfusion frees you from navigating the fulfillment landscape with zero stress. Below are some insights on how Shipfusion can take your business to the next level.
Learn how TUSHY disrupted the bidet and toilet paper market, navigated unprecedented demand during COVID, became a must-have product for households of all sizes, and leveraged Shipfusion to scale.
The Original TUSHY
While the COVID-19 pandemic has spurred popularity for a variety of different products — from peletons to premium zoom accounts, to face masks and disinfecting wipes — one that really rose to the top was the need for finding an alternative to the often sold out toilet paper: enter TUSHY, the cost affordable and easy to install bidet–And while everyone jumped on the bidet bandwagon, the brand had a head start in revolutionizing this essential product years before the pandemic hit.
TUSHY not only saves your budget, it saves the planet. For example, it takes just one pint of water to properly wash with TUSHY, which pales in comparison to the 37 gallons of water it takes to create a single roll of toilet paper., Meanwhile, Americans flush 15 million trees down the toilet annually. TUSHY helps you save thousands of dollars over time on toilet paper consumption. Not only that, for every TUSHY sold, the company helps fund the build-out of clean toilets for the urban and rural areas in India.
Its ultra-sleek design fits perfectly on all household toilets and comes in a range of styles and functionality. Outside of leaving you feeling clean and washed, TUSHY’s signature model is trusted by recognized media such as Goop, The New York Times, Vice and Wired and is the top-rated bidet attachment according to both Consumer Reports and Wirecutter.
We sat down with TUSHY’s Senior Operations Manager, Krystal Daniel, to learn how the brand shook up the personal care industry.
TUSHY+Shipfusion’s Technology
Before Shipfusion, we used to work with another 3PL that was less than ideal. It was so stressful trying to deal with them, and they claimed to be a “tech-savvy 3PL,” but it was clear they were a smaller service trying to get up to the more enterprise-level where Shipfusion is already at.
Shipfusion has a great customer support team that is easy to work with. They are always there to answer our questions. We’re super grateful for their help in creating processes and solutions to our pain points; they made our lives a lot easier from the very beginning. Our relationship with our account manager Scott is easy and sustainable, he’s very attentive, and we don’t have that level of service from all our partners.
The Shipfusion platform is very customer-friendly and easy to use. Shipfusion has really allowed for our order fulfillment to be hands-off, Shipfusion is a plug-and-play solution and their software allows for seamless integration. The client portal is very easy to use, extremely customer friendly and very intuitive. TUSHY connects to an API to our order management system, and any tweak that needs to be done is always just a super quick email to our account manager, and within 30 minutes, we always have an email back saying that it has been completed, and if I need an additional field pushed through or something along those lines, it’s straightforward to accomplish on Shipfusion’s platform. Also, on the billing invoice side, it’s very intuitive. The invoice software is direct, and any backup in detail needed is easily exportable, which is very helpful, especially when it comes to analysis.
- A great and personal relationship with our Account Manager
- Plug and play software
- Easy to Use
- Customized fields made within minutes
Shipping Challenges to Effortless Fulfillment During the Pandemic
When the demand for TUSHY skyrocketed during the first few months of COVID, it became clear very early on what the main pain points would be when it came to distribution. First off, TUSHY comes in a large to medium-sized box, so location availability was a big factor, especially considering our product is not the smallest package. TUSHY’s number two main priority is cost, and our number three main concern was delivering on our SLA times. The volume we pushed through Shipfusion at the beginning of the pandemic was unplanned; we leaned on trapeze a lot during our Q4 season. Without even providing a forecast beforehand, Shipfusion was able to handle the volume increase seamlessly. TUSHY is so grateful that Shipfusion was able to accommodate us during that crazy Q4 season, they were able to handle around 10,000 orders a day across all of our fulfillment locations. It was a time of extremely high volume, and shipping and Shipfusion got through it without a glitch. Shipfusion has also allowed us to be successful in the international market, especially in Canada and Australia.
Having the capabilities to ship domestically within the US and Canada helps a lot across the board as far as customer experience and cost. Honestly, what stands out to me the most is the level of customer service and meeting SLA’s and getting us through tough times and high volume times. I just keep comparing Shipfusion to many other partners we have worked with within the past, and Shipfusion is the best.
What’s Next for TUSHY?
We will continue to expand across North America and internationally. Our team continues to grow fast this year as we scale quickly, build-out and invest in the community and help reshape the way people use their toilets.
With a distributed team across North America and a customer base that continues to grow across the globe, Shipfusion has helped us tremendously. I’ve been really happy from the get-go, and I look forward to growing more with Shipfusion over the next few years.
