Official Launch: Portal V2 Release Today!
by Christie McLeod on Sep. 6, 2022
We’re very excited to announce that Shipfusion’s Portal V2 major release is moving into General Availability today! Starting 6:00pm (EDT) today client accounts will begin being upgraded to V2. No downtime is expected during this release.
As we detailed in our “sneak peak” article, this release is an almost complete refactoring of the Shipfusion client interface codebase, and not “just” a new interface. Our goal was to develop a better experience for our clients, with added functionality, faster speed, a more modern design, and overall improved usability – and based on the feedback we received from users during the Beta release, we think you’re going to love it.
While there are some new features and enhancements in this release, the emphasis here is that we now have a new, state-of-the-art foundation that will allow us to build and release new features and improvements faster than ever before. We hope our clients enjoy the benefits of Portal V2. Thanks to all our users for their valuable feedback and support, and we look forward to bringing more innovative tools to your fingertips through future releases.
Video Introduction: Introducing Shipfusion’s Portal V2 Major Update
What’s new in Portal V2?
All-New Interface
The most immediately recognizable change in V2 is the completely redesigned interface. Months of testing have gone into making Portal even easier to use and ensuring that you always have the information you need readily accessible.
Updated Reporting
Reporting has been revamped allowing more configurability, as well as faster generation of reports.
Introducing Global Search
The new sidebar Global Search function gives you an extremely fast and powerful way to find things anywhere in your account. Simply start typing to search across all fields and objects.
Improved speed and performance
The new infrastructure behind Portal means that the new version is much faster than before and feels much more responsive, even when working with large data sets.
New user permissions options
All new user permission settings allow you to get fine-grained with access rights. It’s now easier than ever to create roles with predetermined permission sets for cases where you want to grant the same set of permissions to many users.
Pins!
We’ve heard your requests, and we’re happy to announce that you can now “pin” items so that they are readily accessible without having to search for them. Super handy for items that you go back to frequently.
More visualizations
In general, the new interface is much more visual, which should aid in ease of use, not just in terms of the software itself, but also to help you onboard new staff more easily by including product images, for example, where available.
Improved order management
Order management has gotten a refresh and now includes more information on a single screen to make users more efficient and reduce the number of clicks required. Creating orders is now more intuitive and includes a number of improvements, including the ability to see inventory right away.
